meet symone seay
Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, Symone Seay began her musical journey at just four years old, singing in her local church. From an early age, her voice carried both passion and purpose — a reflection of the calling God placed on her life. Throughout her school years, she was an active member of multiple choirs, from elementary through high school, and later earned a scholarship to join the Norfolk State University Concert Choir.
While studying at Norfolk State, Symone performed with excellence and emotion in major showcases, including her powerful renditions of “I’m Here” from The Color Purple and “And I Am Telling You” from Dreamgirls. She also performed in the university’s Star Rose production, which further highlighted her dynamic stage presence and soulful range.
In 2018, Symone began singing with a local jazz band, performing across the Hampton Roads area for three years. Her love for music led to the release of her debut single in 2020, followed by her first EP, Tales of Love, in 2023.
Now stepping boldly into her gospel era, Symone serves as the worship leader at First Baptist Church of Lambert’s Point, where her ministry and music meet. Her journey hasn’t been without challenges — she has overcome seasons of depression, anxiety, and fear — but through faith, prayer, and surrender, she’s learned how to lean on God’s strength and walk in confidence.
